Come and consider how you can be quietly active in the Greater Story of God by pondering your spiritual life from the perspective of yarn and creating shawls.
Come and consider the lifestyle of fingers and yarn as an easy way of experiencing spiritual disciplines: solitude and silence, spiritual friendships, fervent prayer, slowing down, frugality, sacrifice, abandoning outcomes, secrecy, detachment, and more. Over more than a decade of averaging 1 shawl per month, the presenter of this workshop has encouraging stories to share about how through yarn, we are quietly active in the Greater Story of God.
This workshop will provide time for stitching, pondering, reflecting and discussion. We will stitch in individual and in group sessions. Samples of prayer shawls and pocket prayer shawls and some reference books will be provided. Please bring yarn and needles/crochet hook, notebook and pen.
